2025 - 2026 Religious Education CLASSES
The Christian home is a place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason, the family home is rightly called “the domestic church,” a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity. CCC 1666
We are pleased to offer a variety of classes to meet the needs of our children and their families this year:
EARLY FUNDAMENTALS:
§ Pre K (ages 4+)/Kindergarten and 1st Grade students begin to learn the essentials of our faith on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. (see calendar for dates).
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION:
§ § RECONCILIATION - 2nd graders and up prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Students participate on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. (see calendar for dates). Families will also receive additional curriculum specific to the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be completed at home. Parents are encouraged to attend Adult Formation sessions and are expected to attend the parent meeting on December 14, 2025 during class time. Students are expected to attend the meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The celebration of the Sacrament of 1st Reconciliation is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, March 14, 2026. (Completion of Reconciliation class is required before signing up for Confirmation & 1st Eucharist.)
§ § CONFIRMATION & 1st Eucharist – 3rd graders and up prepare for the Sacraments of Confirmation AND 1st Eucharist. Elementary students participate on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. (see calendar for dates). Families will also receive additional curriculum specific to the Sacraments of Confirmation and 1st Eucharist to be completed at home. Parents are expected to attend Adult Formation sessions and a meeting on January 11, 2026 during class time as well as a meeting on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Students and their sponsors (or proxy) are expected to attend additional meetings on Sundays, November 9, 2025 and March 15, 2026 (11:30 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m.) as well as the required rehearsal on Saturday, May 2, 2026 (10:30 a.m. to approximately 11:45 p.m.) The celebration of Confirmation and 1st Eucharist is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Prerequisite: Completion of 1st Reconciliation class is required before signing up for Confirmation & 1st Eucharist class.
v LIVING OUR FAITH Class:
§ 4th & 5th graders already Confirmed continue to be strengthened in their faith. Students participate on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and will study the scriptures using curriculum that pairs with the Breakthrough Bible they received previously. (If needed a new Breakthrough Bible can be purchased.)
Adult Faith Formation
All adults are invited to join us for Adult Faith Formation On the Sundays listed below from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. In the Joe Downs Memorial Hall. Sessions are required for parents of students preparing for the Sacraments of Confirmation & First Eucharist and are open to all parents, sponsors and the parish at large (see calendar for dates).
